ActiveGate hardware and system requirements
This topic explains the hardware and operating system requirements for installing ActiveGate.
Hardware requirements
You need a machine dedicated to ActiveGate that has:
- 2 GB free disk space
- 2 GB RAM (4 GB recommended)
- 1 dual core processor
Note: For large environments, you may need to use a machine with additional CPU and memory.
Synthetic-enabled ActiveGates are more demanding in terms of hardware requirements. See System and hardware requirements for synthetic-enabled ActiveGates.
System requirements
- Ensure that you have proper network port configuration.
- Your operating system must handle at least
500000open files for therootuser
Note: To view the system limit, execute the following command:cat /proc/sys/fs/file-max.

ActiveGate supports only 64-bit operating systems.
