VictorOps integration

DESK offers an out-of-the-box VictorOps integration that automatically pushes DESK problem notifications to your VictorOps environment.

To set up VictorOps problem-notification integration

Navigate to DESK > Settings > Integration > Problem notifications.

Click Set up notifications and select VictorOps, as shown below.

The Set up VictorOps integration page is displayed.

Enter the following information

  • Name User-defined display name that distinguishes this unique integration from other integrations.
  • API key Enter the auto-generated VictorOps API key here. To get your VictorOps API key, switch to your VictorOps account and navigate to VictorOps > Settings > Integrations > Rest Endpoint > DESK.
  • Routing key
    Set a routing key to send problem notifications to the responsible team.
  • Message Insert a custom message that includes text and problem-related placeholders.

Finalize and save

Use the Notification level switches to control the types of problem notifications that are sent to the target system (problems with Applications, Services, and/or Infrastructure).

Available placeholders

  • {State}: Problem state. Possible values are OPEN and RESOLVED.
  • {ProblemID}: ID number of the reported problem.
  • {PID}: Unique system identifier of the reported problem.
  • {ProblemImpact}: Impact level of the problem. Possible values are APPLICATION, SERVICE, or INFRASTRUCTURE.
  • {ProblemTitle}: Short description of the problem.
  • {ProblemDetails}: All problem event details, including root cause, as plain text.
  • {ProblemURL}: URL of the details page of the corresponding problem in DESK.
  • {ImpactedEntity}: Entities impacted by the problem (or the term "multiple" when more than two entities are impacted).
  • {Tags}: Comma-separated value list of the tags that are defined for all impacted entities.
